Born in Singapore, Leane Lim began her dance training at the age of four before continuing her studies at the School of the Arts (SOTA), Singapore. She was awarded a scholarship to the Central School of Ballet in London, where she graduated in 2015 with a First Class BA (Hons) degree. During her time in London, she toured with Ballet Central and worked with internationally renowned guest teachers and choreographers. Alongside her performance training, she developed an interest in choreography, with her neoclassical work receiving recognition at the school’s choreographic platform and later being presented at the City of London Festival.

Leane joined Singapore Ballet as an Apprentice in 2017 and was promoted to Artist in 2019, Demi-Soloist in 2025, and Soloist in 2026.

Her classical repertoire includes soloist roles such as Prayer in Coppélia, Autumn Fairy in Cinderella, Third Variation in Paquita, Fairy of Grace in Sleeping Beauty, Big Swan in Swan Lake, and Chinese Flowers in The Nutcracker. She has also performed in Janek Schergen’s productions of Romeo and Juliet, Don Quixote and Giselle.

Leane’s journey with Singapore Ballet has allowed her to explore and grow through a diverse range of neoclassical and contemporary works, including Incomparable Beauty by Ma Cong, Terra and Dark Waves by Natalie Weir, alongside works by Edwaard Liang, Nils Christe, Timothy Harbour, Edmund Stripe, Tim Rushton, and Kinsun Chan. She has also performed extensively in the works of Choo-San Goh, including in Fives, Momentum, Double Contrasts, Schubert Symphony, In the Glow of the Night, and Birds of Paradise, as well as George Balanchine’s Serenade, The Four Temperaments and Theme and Variations.
