Soloist

LEANE LIM

Born in Singapore, Leane began her dance training at the age of four and later attended the School of the Arts, Singapore. She was awarded a scholarship to further her training at the Central School of Ballet (CSB) in London, graduating in 2015 with a First Class BA (Hons) degree. During her time in London, she worked with renowned guest teachers and choreographers as part of Ballet Central’s touring company. Her training at CSB also provided valuable opportunities in choreography. Notably, her neoclassical work won a prize at the school’s choreographic platform and was later presented at the City of London Festival.

Upon returning to Singapore, Leane joined Singapore Ballet (SB) as an Apprentice in 2017 and was promoted to Artist in 2019. Her classical repertoire features a range of soloist roles, including Paquita (2025), the Fairy of Grace in Sleeping Beauty (2024), Big Swan in Swan Lake (2024), and Chinese Flowers in The Nutcracker (2024). She has also appeared in major classical productions staged by Janek Schergen, including Cinderella, Romeo and Juliet, Coppélia, Don Quixote, and Giselle.

Leane’s dynamic and versatility extends to neoclassical and contemporary works, including Incomparable Beauty (2025) by Ma Cong, as well as a trio segment in Terra (2025) and Dark Waves (2024) by Natalie Weir. She has also performed in various new creations and restaged works for SB by Edwaard Liang, Nils Christe, Timothy Harbour, Edmund Stripe, Timothy Rushton, and Kinsun Chan.

In addition, Leane has performed extensively in the works of Choo-San Goh, including Fives, Momentum, Double Contrasts, Schubert Symphony, In the Glow of the Night and Birds of Paradise, as well as George Balanchine’s Serenade, The Four Temperaments, and Theme and Variations.

Leane was promoted to Demi-Soloist in July 2025 and to Soloist in January 2026.
