STEPHANIE JOE
Demi-Soloist

Born in Houston, Texas, Stephanie trained pre-professionally at the Houston Ballet Academy and had the opportunity to perform with Houston Ballet and Houston Ballet II. She spent summers training on merit scholarships with Boston Ballet, Houston Ballet, and Joffrey Ballet School (New York City). Stephanie also attended the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Summer Program and Boston Ballet’s Choreographic Intensive.

From 2016 to 2019, Stephanie performed with Chicago-based Ballet 5:8, touring across the United States performing principal and soloist roles in the company’s original repertoire by Julianna Rubio Slager.

Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University where she pursued interdisciplinary studies in dance, business, and design, graduating cum laude with distinction in dance.

Stephanie joined Singapore Ballet as an Artist in September 2019. Since then, she has been featured in Quiver by Tim Rushton, After Happy Ever by Alice Topp, Faux Contact by Etienne Ferrère, and Purcell Pieces (Fairest Isle solo) by Nils Christe. Stephanie has also performed Serenade by George Balanchine, In the Glow of the Night, Birds of Paradise, and Schubert Symphony by Choo-San Goh, Linea Adora by Timothy Harbour, 4Seasons by Natalie Weir, Opus 25 by Edwaard Liang, along with the classic ballets Swan Lake, Coppelia, Don Quixote, Romeo and Juliet, and The Nutcracker. Stephanie has also enjoyed performing in the original cast for new creations at Singapore Ballet, including Without You by Tim Rushton, Protecting Veil by Timothy Harbour, Family Reunion by Lucas Jervies, and zer0 by Rachel Lum.

Stephanie was promoted to Demi-Soloist in January 2024.
