YE LI-LIN
Born in Taoyuan, Taiwan, Li-Lin began her ballet training at the age of three. In 2014, she won the Gold Medal at the Taiwan Grand Prix and was awarded a scholarship to Canada’s National Ballet School (NBS) by Deborah Hess.
In 2015, Li-Lin moved to Canada to continue her professional training at NBS. Under the direction of Mavis Staines, she represented the school in international summer exchanges with the Australian Ballet School in 2018 and the Royal Danish Ballet School in 2019. She graduated from NBS in 2020, receiving the Ballet Staff Award in recognition of her artistic excellence and exceptional work ethic. Following her graduation, Li-Lin furthered her training through NBS’s Company Life Program and performed in short-term contracts with The National Ballet of Canada. Her performances included Karen Kain’s Swan Lake, James Kudelka’s The Nutcracker and Cinderella, and George Balanchine’s Symphony in C.
Li-Lin joined Singapore Ballet as an Apprentice in August 2023 and was promoted to Artist in September 2024. Her repertoire with the company includes classical works such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, and Paquita; neoclassical works including Choo San Goh’s Double Contrast, Timothy Harbour’s Linea Adora and The Bistro, and Edwaard Liang’s Opus 25; as well as contemporary works such as Rite of Spring by Kinsun Chan, Pact of Water by Christina Chan, and Terra by Natalie Weir.
