YE LI-LIN
Apprentice

Li-Lin was born in Taoyuan, Taiwan and started dancing when she was 3 years old. At the age of 8, she started classical ballet education. She competed in Taiwan Grand Prix at the age of 12 in 2014. She won Gold Medal in the pre-competitive group and also received a scholarship to Canada’s National Ballet School’s (NBS) summer intensive from Deborah Hess.

Li-Lin became a full-time student in the Professional Ballet Program at NBS in the following year. She trained with Young-Joo Lee, Deborah Hess, and Katya Robledo during her time at the school. Under Mavis Staines’ directorship, she also had the opportunity to represent NBS and go on exchanges to the Australian Ballet School in 2018 and Royal Danish Ballet School in 2019. In 2020, she graduated from NBS with the Ballet Staff award.

After graduating, she joined the Company Life Program at NBS. In the program, she trained with Lise Jourdain, Raymond Smith, Robert Stephen, Phillip Payne, Kate Garrett, Ian Parsons, Lin Zhou and Keith Morino. As a member of the Company Life Program, she was also chosen to be engaged in a few short-term contracts with The National Ballet of Canada. Which included, NBoC’s new production of Swan Lake by Karen Kain, James Kudelka’s The Nutcracker, George Balanchine’s Symphony in C and James Kudelka’s Cinderella.

Li-Lin joined Singapore Ballet as an apprentice in August 2023.
