Apprentices
Emily Koe
Emily was born in Singapore and began her dance journey at the age of four. She was accepted at the School of The Arts (SOTA) in 2017 and continued her studies at Staatliche Ballettschule Berlin, Germany in 2020. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Stage Dance in 2023 from Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch Berlin. In her final year in Berlin, she won second place for ballet and third place for student choreography at her school competition.
Her talent was first recognised internationally in 2015 when she won Best Performer in Ballet at the Hong Kong Challenge Cup Dance Competition. Following that, she secured first place in the RAD Dance Challenge Competition in Singapore and also won the gold medal in Asian Grand Prix International Ballet Competition in Hongkong.
Emily has received numerous international accolades including third place in the Senior Classical category at the Youth America Grand Prix in Paris and top 12 in Contemporary. Other competitions she has earned placement in includes Asian grand Prix Regional Ballet Competition, Masterpiece International Ballet Competition, Get The Beat Competition, World Ballet Grand Prix in Singapore and Asian Elite Dance Competition in Shenzhen.
Notably, she was the first Singaporean selected to compete in the prestigious Prix de Lausanne in Montreux, Switzerland in 2020.
Emily joined Singapore Ballet as a trainee in January 2024 and was promoted to apprentice in January 2025.
