Building on the momentum of the company’s presentation at Kennedy Centre in Washington D.C., Singapore Ballet will be staging a special fundraising gala performance in honour of Choo-San Goh at the Esplanade Theatre on 21 July 2024. The Company will do a reprisal of Momentum and other renowned pieces by the late choreographer such as Romeo and Juliet Pas De Deux, Configurations Pas De Deux, Fives and Double Contrasts. Singapore Ballet hopes that audiences in Singapore will have a chance to encounter the legacy of Choo-San Goh just as the US audiences did.
“The establishment of Singapore Ballet came from the inspiration of the career of choreographer Choo-San Goh. From 1988 until today, his legacy has continued to provide an impact on the aspirations for the continuing growth and development of Singapore Ballet. His ballets, to us, are a treasure”, said Janek Schergen, Artistic Director of Singapore Ballet.
