Seoryeong Choi (Ayla) was born in South Korea and began her ballet training at the age of 13.

In 2022, she moved to Singapore to pursue a Diploma in Dance at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). Upon her admission, she received multiple scholarships and financial awards, including the MOE Tuition Grant. She graduated in 2025.

During her studies, she had the opportunity to work with a number of renowned choreographers, including Jeffrey Tan and Étienne Ferrère, performing works such as Amalgamation and Ebb & Flow. In recognition of her academic excellence, she was named to the Dean’s List. In 2021, she was awarded the Silver Prize in the Classical Ballet category at the World Dance Competition TANZ VISION.

Seoryeong joined Singapore Ballet as an Apprentice in September 2026
