Demi-Soloist

Ma Ni was born in Henan, China. She trained at the Liaoning School of Ballet, affiliated to Liao Ning Ballet Company from 2003 to 2009, where she studied Classical Ballet, Character Dance, Modern dance and Chinese dance. After her graduation, Ma Ni studied at the Beijing Dance Academy for 1 year.

In 2010, Ma Ni attended The Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and graduated with a Diploma in Dance in 2013. She also participated in Youth America Grand Prix ballet competition in Japan in 2012.

Ma Ni performed with SDT in the 2013 production of The Nutcracker before joining the Company as an apprentice in January 2014. She has performed the role of Juliet’s friends in Romeo and Juliet (2020), Cygnets and Princesses in Swan Lake (2019), Don Quixote, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, as well as Bournonville Divertissements, La Ventana, Tarantella, Rubies, Concerto Barocco, Serenade, Peter & Blue’s Birthday Party, PaquitaPeter & Blue’s Forest AdventureLinea AdoraSYNCMidnight WaltzesSchubert SymphonyEvening VoicesUnexpected B, Blue Snow, Jabula by Natalie Weir, The Third Reset by Christina Chan and Quiver by Timothy Rushton. Ma Ni was promoted to Demi-Soloist in January 2022.
