HENRIETTE GARCIA
Artist
Henriette was born in Oslo, Norway. Her interest in ballet started when she was 6 years old, at that time taking dancing lessons with the Jorunn Kirkenærs Ballet school. At age of 12, she trained at The Norwegian National Ballet School in Oslo until the age of 16, where she had the opportunity to learn and perform small roles during her years there.
From 2011 to 2014 she studied at Oslo National Academy of the Arts where she graduated with BA diploma in Performing Arts. During this period, she had the chance to work with talented teachers Tania Rodriguez, Ellen Kjellberg, Zoltan Szolnoki, Toini Kristensen, Kumiko Hayakawa and Jahn Magnus Johansen, Richard Suttie, Tim Almaas, Josephine Jewkses and guest teachers/choreographers such as Yannick Boquinn, Dinna Bjørn and Maurice Causey, Helen Pickett and Alan Land. As well as Liam Scarlett during his creation of Firebird at the Norwegian National Ballet where she was put up as understudy. After graduation, as an aspiring young dancer, Henriette joined the Norwegian National Ballet for their production of Nutcracker by Dinna Bjørn.
She was a full-time company member at Ballet Manila in the Philippines performed various roles of both corps de ballet and soloist roles between 2015-2018 under the supervision of Lisa Macuja. In December 2018, she also had the opportunity to work at Tivoli Ballet theater in Copenhagen for the production of Nutcracker in collaboration with Her Majesty Queen Margethe II of Denmark and choreographed by Peter Bo Bendixen.
Henriette joined SDT as an Artist in January 2019 and performed the role of Cygnets in Swan Lake (2019). Her repertoire includes Don Quixote, Peter & Blue Go Around The World, Linea Adora, Giselle, Swan Lake Divertissements, The Nutcracker Act II, Serenade, Family Reunion, Romeo and Juliet (2020) and Quiver by Timothy Rushton.
