BEATRICE CASTAÑEDA
Demi-Soloist
At the age of seven, Beatrice began her ballet training in Ballet Manila School. In 2008 she furthered her training for two years in Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy. Then, she spent two years dancing in the Milwaukee Ballet II program.
Beatrice has performed in the Ballet Manila’s productions of Swan Lake, La Bayadere, Le Corsaire, Giselle, Pinocchio, Romeo and Juliet, Ben Stevenson’s Nutcracker, Michael Pink’s Esmeralda, Coppélia, Dracula, Peter Pan and Lila York’s Celts.
Beatrice joined SDT as an apprentice on August 2012, and was promoted to Artist in January 2014. She has performed in many productions including Sleeping Beauty, Coppélia, Giselle, The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Don Quixote, Paquita and most recently, she performed the roles of Cygnets and Princesses in Swan Lake (2019).
She has also danced in Bournonville Divertissements, La Ventana, Tarantella, Beginnings, Opus 25, Midnight Waltzes, Concerto Barocco, Theme and Variation, Rubies, Serenade, Peter & Blue Go Around the World, Timothy Coleman’s piece for Passages (2012, 2013), Swipe, Lambarena, Piano Concerto No.2 Opus 102, Another Energy, Peter & Blue’s Birthday Party, The Four Temperament, 13th Heaven, Symphony in Three Movements, Another Energy, Triptych, Double Contrasts, Linea Adora, SYNC, Unknown Territory Fives and Quiver.
Beatrice was promoted to Demi-Soloist in January 2020. She most recently performed in Romeo and Juliet (2020) as Juliet’s friends.
